Two Things
Mar. 4th, 2006 11:19 pmOne, had a very productive day today. Got up around 6ish, went to Lowe's, bought some lumber, and built a set of DVD racks for the entertainment center that is currently in progress in my living room. Of course, now the house smells like stain, but oh well. It looks nice and now actually matches, unlike the metal racks that had been so cool and good looking in the apartment. An added bonus is that the new racks add space, which the original ones had already run out of. I've also found I'm gaining some confidence in the whole realm of home improvement, bit by bit. Some of our next steps I'm not going to be able to do myself, like install central air, but finishing the two rooms in the bedroom are going to be a mix of do-it-myself and professional, so it's nice to be getting comfortable with it all.
Two, the wife and I sat down to watch The Island, starring Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson. In all, a pretty good movie. I always enjoy Ewan's acting, not to mention Sean Bean. (Speaking of whom, looks like there's another Sharpe's movie/mini-series thing slated to come out this year. Color me tickled.) Many, many shots in the movie reminded me of similar bits in Bad Boys II, which should not be a big surprise. Couldn't really pick up the bits that were shot in Detroit, but I haven't been downtown in quite a long time. So that's my excuse.
Other than that, I'm going to bed as soon as the Red Wings finish kicking the crap out of the Phoenix Coyotes.
