Lenten Promises
Mar. 1st, 2006 09:12 pmSo, Lent started today.
As mentioned before, I gave up Mountain Dew already, but that was just a precursor to Lent. In general, though, I'm going to be headed in the direction of better fitness, and giving up the sugary, caffeinated goodness of Mt. Dew is the first step. General better eating is the next, along with some kind of regular exercise. By Easter, I'm looking to be knee-deep in some very good habits.
Otherwise, I'm going to try to make a habit of being less selfish. Not that it's been a terrible problem for me, but I think it's one of those things at which one can always do better. Definitely, after all, in the spirit of the season to be thinking of others first, anyway.
What's interesting, I'm finding as I reflect on some of these things, is that if I want to be productive, if I want to stick to my priorities, I almost have to get into that dreaded rut. I wonder, six months or a year from now, if I'll be sick of it yet.
