Someday, I’ll get back to posting regularly. In the meantime, here’s something I’ve been looking forward to all my life, ever since I heard about it an hour ago:
BBC4 is apparently making a weekly series out of Douglas Adams’ lesser-known “Dirk Gently” books. There were only two, but they were funny and sweet and cool, and I’m really glad someone has decided to pick up his characters and concepts and run with them. I’m honestly hoping it is done more in the style of the Sherlock series, updated but with all kinds of loving nods to the source material. Two slavish adaptations would not work well, I think, and from the looks of the trailer above, it doesn’t seem they’ve gone down that road.
Very excited, can’t wait until it gets to BBCA or PBS or… something.
