Spam Friendings?
Nov. 8th, 2008 08:53 amSo, LJ-only here for a minute, because it's an interesting LJ phenomenon.
I've actually been getting a lot of fake accounts friending me lately, and it seems that like when I get them on MySpace, they steal actual people's profile content (complete, sometimes, with the stolen user's own username). The interesting wrinkle for LJ is that they all seem to be in Russian, and the only other person I've seen plagued by the same fake users is
earthgoat who, like me, has Russian-related interests in her profile.
LJ actually seems to clamp down on them within a few days at most, but it's kind of interesting, especially in light of LJ's current ownership.
