So, not surprisingly, I did not post anything over the weekend on account of being out in the middle of nowhere with a long walk between us and the nearest wi-fi hotspot. We also discovered that they seemed to turn something off around the time the campsite’s welcome center closed and couldn’t get on the internet as a result. Not a restriction they seemed to advertise–and yet again, I’m going to hope that my employer finally springs for a cell/data package with the laptop adapters by next year, but not going to hold my breath. Maybe I’ll win the lottery, too.

Anyway, had a great weekend. One of the odd highlights was an… entertainer, who sung a lot of Dean Martin and Elvis and Sinatra numbers for our family in a private show. Apparently, his typical gig is at retirement homes, prompting me to pose to my wife the scenario that, in fifty years, singers will be putting on rented shredded jeans and flannel shirts to sing Pearl Jam and Nirvana numbers to us as we slurp on our butterscotch pudding.

She didn’t think so, but it did prompt me to wonder what kind of shape that would take in the future (or if miracles of medicine and whatnot will obviate the retirement home altogether).

So, sorry I haven’t been around much. Should change, at least for a little while.
