So. Tired.

After getting home from work (a little early, natch), I went for a run. Verdict: running socks seem to make an enormous difference. Repeated tests and a pending trip to a running store shall tell the tale fully. Anyway, after I ran and showered, the wife and kids got home and, since it was a really nice day, the son wanted to go outside and play. Or, rather, stay outside and play.

So, I went with him on his tour of the neighborhood, fetching up in the actual cul-de-sac at the end of our street with some of our neighbors and their kids. Then more neighbors and kids showed up. And more. And I spent about two hours standing around talking, or running after my kid because he was about to run over some other kid in the massive, souped-up Power Wheels he had absconded with. So far, it seems everyone on the block is exceptionally cool about every kid on the block playing with their kids’ toys and in their backyards and whatnot.

It’s actually pretty awesome.

Anyway, the upshot of that is that I was pretty beat when I came in from my run, and so I am way, WAY more beat now. And I still want to get the car 90% packed so me and the kids can jump in and go in the morning. They’ll be chilling with my folks while I’m livin’ it up at Penguicon and Tarri’s home enjoying some peace and quiet.

Bed’s calling, but it’ll have to wait. See y’all on the flip side of the con (except for those I will see at the con, in which case, I’ll see you there).
