I kinda dig new stuff.

Not necessarily in that, “it must be shiny and gadgety” sort of way that most folks think of when they think of the new, but… I like to mix things up. Stay out of ruts. I think a big chunk of what is motivating me to finish the basement (on all kinds of hold for now, mostly due to sick kids) is just the newness of it, of having a new office, and so on.

Work was kind enough to sell me a new computer, on a payroll-withdrawal installment plan, and that’s cool. It’s not a Mac. I want a Mac, but I have to be a little realistic. What I really, really want is a Mac Pro and that’s about $2790 out of my budget right now. So, I’m making-do with a Dell that’s still pretty nice. It’s faster than my poor Mac Mini, which has just been bogging down more and more lately. Not a lot of new, not the new I really crave, but just enough, at a reasonable price, to kind of give me a warm fuzzy.

Anyway, for the old: Watching Yahtzee’s editorial this week made me a little nostalgic for Fatboy Slim’s “Weapon of Choice” video. So, here it is, in all its Walken glory:
