That Kind Of Week. Weeks. Argh.

Cuteness first:

Soo… the last few weeks. Let me tell you about them.

First, right after ConFusion, I started working on the basement in earnest. No interesting pictures, really, because it’s mostly stuff a picture won’t show: piling mud on top of more mud and sanding it smooth. Not very interesting, but certainly very tedious. I worked on that every evening after dinner for a week, to the exclusion of most everything else, including spending time with the kids. Stuff got done, but not quite fast enough, and I was sure I was on a deadline because it said it “6 mos./Abandonment” on the permit.

Turns out, that wasn’t the case, really. But I didn’t find that out until this morning. So, last week was spent trying to get the electrician to commit to coming out this past Monday, which he did… and then never showed. So I called and he said I was mistaken, we had scheduled for Tuesday… and then he never showed. And then he never returned my calls. So yeah, he’s fired.

But that’s okay, because the inspector says so long as I’m actively working on it, he’s going to honor the permit. Again, though, didn’t find that out until this morning.

AAaaaaannd that cute little baby pictured above has been sick for the past week solid. I stayed home with her today so I could keep an eye on her feeding regimen. She’s been throwing up again, so it’s kinda critical that we feed her only so much, so often. She threw up again tonight, but I think she’s on the upswing. Meanwhile, Tarri went to bed tonight with a 103 fever, which is awesome. All the way. As I said to her tonight, I’m going to be looking after three kids this weekend.

So if you’re wondering where I’ve been (as someone actually did in e-mail, thanks again!) or what I’ve been up to, that’s the short version. Hopefully I’ll be posting more again in the future, but that will likely depend on the health of my three kids.
