Ah, Sweet Sweet Lack of Political Ads
Nov. 8th, 2006 08:55 amYeah, it's finally over.
Isn't it great?
Most all of my candidates and issues won, which is nice. I'm especially pleased with the Eminent Domain proposal winning. I think that was one of the sleepers of this election. It's not often that a state takes on a SCOTUS ruling and wins or, at least, makes it part of the constitution.
What I'm really excited about, though, is not only is the Genesis core of Collins, Rutherford, and Banks reforming for a big European tour next summer, but all of their studio albums are going to be released as re-mastered Dolby 5.1 surround SACD/DVD double-disc sets. I'm such a nerd for them, especially their older stuff. Now I just have to prioritize what I'm going to buy (again) next year. As it happens, I don't have three of their older, classic albums, so that's a bonus. No re-buying there. For the rest of the catalog, though...
And it's a little sad that that's what I'm excited about, but yet again, with the politics, I feel more observer than participant (though, yes, I did vote) when it comes to this big national stuff. How will it all turn out, now, with a Congress at least half-controlled by the Dems? I suspect there won't be a lot of change in the day-to-day of most Americans. But I know the political blogs should make for entertaining reading...
