1035 words, and that was all just yesterday. This brings Chapter 14 to a close, which means I really should have already outlined Chapter 15, but I didn't, so I guess I'm doing that next. Chapter 14 winds up, then at 4693 words (or 6000 if you use the standard # pages * 250 estimation method), and brings the whole novel's grand total to 60,230 (or some other number using the estimation method).

I've also been working on a new short story that's been kicking around in my head for the past couple years, so some of my writing time has been going to that. I hope to have it on OWW by week's end. I'd love to go into it now, but I won't, as I'm curious to see how it's received. It'll probably be better to talk about what I'm trying to do with it as it relates to the general reaction it gets.

And if everything went well, today the wife has/is gone/going to the Post Office to put a novel query packet in the mail. I'm very excited about this, of course. I submitted an e-mail query to EOS back in March, which was rejected, but that was just a cover letter and synopsis, per their guidelines. This time, I'm actually sending in three sample chapters, so we'll see. This will be the first time since I was 17 that I've actually submitted any part of actual writing that I've done to an actual publisher. Hopefully I'll be able to improve on my once-every-nine-years average in the coming months and years.

More updates as they happen, film at 11.
