Moved In

And mostly settled, believe it or not. The crew we had show up on Saturday made light work of the moving in and unpacking process. Much thanks, as always, to dear [livejournal.com profile] dsudis who came and utilized her book-organizing skills to make our living room shelves look really spiff.

I went without e-mail since Thursday, as our internet just got turned on this morning, so penfold, my Linux server, is taking some time to grab it all and serve it back up to me. No big deal, but some of the mailing lists I've been on have been high traffic, especially the Bujold list since the me-induced excitement of the past week, so it's a bit much to deal with.

Still need to hang some pictures and stuff on the walls. Got some lingering details to clear up, with the old cable company and some stuff left behind at the old apartment. Don't know how we'll get ahold of that stuff, but we'll figure it out, I guess.

Fun fun fun.

Glad to hear the move went relatively smoothly.

Are you spending Christmas with your family, hers, or starting a new tradition by staying at home?

Not the year to be starting new traditions. We'll probably pull the same routine we went through when I got home from SOI in 1999... going back and forth from one family gathering to another for the four or five days surrounding Christmas.

[livejournal.com profile] tappu and I are big fans of extended family gatherings, though, so I can't see us starting a new staying at home type tradition any time soon.
